Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Finautor ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service. The Service is operated by Pierre Neuman, Rue du Moulin à Papier 32, 1160 Brussels, Belgium ("we", "our", or "us").

2. Description of Service

Finautor is an AI-powered finance automation platform that provides natural language financial analysis, automated workflows, dashboards, and integrations with third-party services. The Service uses artificial intelligence to generate analysis, insights, and automated actions based on your queries and configurations.

Research preview status: Finautor is currently operating as an AI research preview. Access is granted at our discretion as part of this research period, and the Service may be modified, paused, or changed in the future with reasonable notice.

Usage and payment model: Every account includes a free monthly AI-usage allowance. If you use the Service beyond that allowance, you may purchase prepaid usage packs (one-time payments) that fund further usage from a prepaid balance. There is no subscription and no recurring charge — you are only ever charged for prepaid usage packs you choose to buy. See Section 9 (Usage Packs) and Section 10 (Usage Metering and Allowance) for details. You are never charged automatically, and you can continue using the Service within your free monthly allowance without any payment.

3. Account Registration

You must create an account to use the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.

You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. By creating an account, you represent that you meet this age requirement.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable regulations
• Attempt to circumvent rate limits, security measures, or access controls
• Use the Service to generate or distribute misleading financial advice
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
• Share your account credentials with third parties
• Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) to access the Service without authorization

5. Financial Disclaimer

Finautor does not provide financial advice. The Service is an information and automation tool only.

All financial data, analysis, and insights generated by the Service are for informational purposes only and should not be construed as investment advice, financial advice, trading advice, or any other sort of professional advice.

You are solely responsible for your financial decisions. We strongly recommend consulting with a qualified financial advisor before making investment decisions. Past performance data shown through the Service does not guarantee future results.

6. Third-Party Integrations

The Service allows you to connect third-party accounts (e.g., Google Workspace, eToro) through our Connectors feature. By connecting these services, you authorize Finautor to access your data as described in our Privacy Policy.

We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or policies of third-party services. Your use of third-party integrations is also subject to those services' own terms and conditions.

Agent access to your Brain. You may connect external AI assistants and agents (for example Grok, ChatGPT, Claude or Cursor) to your Finautor Brain by creating an API key or granting an OAuth authorisation. Such a connection acts on your behalf with the scope you chose: read access lets the connected client read your Brain pages; write access lets it create, update, archive and pin pages. Every external write is recorded with a reason and can be reverted from the Brain page. You are responsible for the clients you connect and for the instructions you give them, and you may revoke a key or authorisation at any time from Settings.

Content written to your Brain by a connected client is treated as your own content under these Terms. AI-generated content limitations (Section 7) apply equally to what a connected client reads from, or writes to, your Brain.

7. AI-Generated Content

The Service uses artificial intelligence (including Anthropic's Claude) to generate responses, analysis, and automated actions. While we strive for accuracy, AI-generated content may contain errors, inaccuracies, or omissions.

You acknowledge that AI-generated outputs should be verified independently before relying on them for financial decisions or other critical purposes.

8. Automated Workflows

You are responsible for the automations you create and their outcomes. Finautor provides tools for building automated workflows, but you must review and approve automation configurations before enabling them.

9. Usage Packs and Voluntary Donations

Every account includes a free monthly usage allowance at no charge. Usage beyond that allowance is funded by prepaid usage packs, as described below and in Section 10.

Usage packs: You may purchase a prepaid usage pack as a one-time payment. The amount you pay is credited to a prepaid usage balance (your "wallet"), from which metered usage is drawn once your free monthly allowance is used up. Usage packs are one-time purchases — there is no subscription and no automatic renewal or recurring charge. Prepaid balances do not expire while your account is active. Except where required by applicable law, prepaid usage balances are non-refundable; consuming AI usage against your prepaid balance is a supply of digital services that begins immediately.

Voluntary donations: Separately, you may choose to make a voluntary donation via our Support Us page to contribute toward infrastructure costs. Donations are not required, do not entitle you to additional access or features, and are not refundable except where required by applicable law.

Payment processing: Usage-pack purchases and voluntary donations are processed securely by Stripe (card payments only). By making a purchase or donation, you agree to Stripe's Terms of Service. We do not store your full card details.

10. Usage Metering, Allowance and Caps

How usage is metered: AI usage is metered by the volume of AI tokens your activity consumes (for example, chat messages, research, document generation, and automation or workflow runs you request), priced at our published flat usage rates. We may update these rates from time to time on a going-forward basis, with notice for material changes; rate changes never apply retroactively to usage already recorded.

Free monthly allowance: Each account includes a free monthly usage allowance (shown in the app as a percentage of the allowance used). The allowance resets at the start of each calendar month and does not roll over. Product housekeeping we run on your behalf — such as memory consolidation, dashboard refreshes, chat auto-titling, and automation scheduling — is not charged against your allowance or wallet.

Draw-down order: Metered usage is drawn from your free monthly allowance first. Once the allowance is used up, further usage is drawn from your prepaid usage balance (wallet), if any. If you have no remaining allowance and no prepaid balance, metered features are paused until the next monthly reset or until you purchase a usage pack.

Resource caps: Your account may have limits such as a minimum widget-refresh interval. These are enforced at creation time; existing resources are not retroactively removed if the applicable limits change.

Records: We keep a record of your usage and prepaid-balance transactions for billing, reconciliation, and support, as described in our Privacy Policy.

11. Research Preview Access

Finautor is provided as a research preview. Every account receives the same free monthly usage allowance described in Section 10, and no payment is required to use the Service within that allowance. Usage beyond the allowance is optional and funded by prepaid usage packs (Section 9).

We may adjust the free allowance, usage rates, or available features over time, with notice for material changes. Nothing is deleted when such changes take effect — your data, conversations, automations, dashboards, and brain pages remain accessible.

12. Account Closure, Prepaid Balance and Donations

Account closure: You may close your account at any time by contacting us. Closure takes effect immediately. Data handling on closure is governed by our Privacy Policy.

Prepaid balance: Any remaining prepaid usage balance (wallet) is forfeited when you close your account, and when we terminate an account for a breach of these Terms. If you believe a usage-pack purchase was charged in error, contact us within 14 days and we will review your request on a case-by-case basis.

Donations: Voluntary donations are generally non-refundable. However, if you believe a donation was processed in error, contact us within 14 days and we will review your request on a case-by-case basis.

Historical subscriptions: Any prior paid subscriptions have been cancelled. If you believe you were charged in error during a prior paid period, contact us and we will review the request.

13. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, code, and branding, is the intellectual property of Finautor. You retain ownership of data you input into the Service.

You grant us a limited license to process your data solely for the purpose of providing the Service. We do not claim ownership of your queries, automations, or analysis results.

14. Service Availability

We aim to provide reliable service but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control. We are not liable for any losses resulting from service interruptions.

15. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Finautor shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to financial losses arising from reliance on AI-generated analysis, automation errors, or service interruptions. Our total liability shall not exceed the greater of (a) the total amount you have paid to Finautor in the 12 months preceding the claim (including usage-pack purchases and any voluntary donations) or (b) one hundred euros (€100).

16. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms. You may close your account at any time. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately, and any remaining free allowance and prepaid usage balance are forfeited. Voluntary donations are not refunded on termination except where required by applicable law. We will handle your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

17. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes via email or a prominent notice on the Service. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

18. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Belgium. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation first, and if necessary, through the courts of Brussels, Belgium.
