What is Finautor?
Finautor is a financial-intelligence umbrella with three products that share one engine and one account. Pick the one that matches what you need — or use all three together.
Finautor AI
Ask any question about markets, stocks, macro data, or your own portfolio in plain English and get answers backed by live data, charts, and sources. Build live dashboards, schedule automations, generate reports, and keep a private research memory. A research preview, built with wealth managers, family offices and independent advisors. → Explore Finautor AI
Finautor Signals
Systematic, machine-learning market-regime scores — a daily composite reading for broad U.S. equities and a credit-stress reading — served the same way to every subscriber. The current reading is open to anyone; full history and programmatic access are licensed per firm. → Browse Signals
Finautor Services
For professional teams: we scope, build, and document a custom signal, model, or tool, then hand it over. We build and document; you — or your licensed partner — decide and execute. → See Services
One account, three products
Sign in once and everything is in reach. Finautor AI is a research preview with metered usage; Signals is licensed per firm; Services is a client engagement.
Not sure where to start? The Resources hub has a guided walkthrough for each product.
Research preview & access
Finautor AI is a research preview — an evolving product we build alongside wealth managers, family offices and independent advisors. You get the full research chat, dashboards, automations, and the Brain while we work toward general availability. Usage is metered, and access terms are agreed with us. (Signals and Services have their own access models — see below.)
The same AI for everyone
Every conversation runs on the same capable model — Anthropic's Claude. Intelligence isn't paywalled: answers are the same quality for every account. Lighter background work, like refreshing widgets, runs on a faster model so your usage stretches further. You never choose; Finautor routes automatically.
Built to be honest
Because this is research about your money, Finautor is designed to say "I don't know" rather than guess. Data-driven answers carry a confidence indicator, numbers come with their sources, and nothing changes unless you ask. See Methodology for how the safeguards work.
How access works across the products
- Signals — the current reading on every signal is open; full published history and API / MCP access are licensed per firm — see Signals access.
- Services is a client engagement, scoped per project — see Services.
Hit a usage cap or something not working? Email us — we read every message and often raise limits on request.
Using Finautor AI
Finautor AI answers questions about markets, stocks, macro data, and your portfolio in plain English — with live data, charts, and sources. Here's the shape of it; the AI tutorials have step-by-step walkthroughs.
Ask a question
Open the chat from the sidebar, or the side panel on any page. Ask the way you'd ask a colleague — "What were NVDA's last 4 earnings?", "How is the S&P 500 doing this week?", "Compare NVDA and AMD revenue growth." Add "show me a chart" for a visual, use ranges like "YTD" or "last 6 months", and follow up naturally — Finautor keeps context.
Build a live dashboard
Turn any result into a saved widget — "add a price chart for AAPL over the last 6 months" — and Finautor builds a chart, table, or metric tile that refreshes on its own, each with a green / amber / red confidence dot. Pin anything straight from chat with the 📌 button.
Automate & report
Describe a recurring task once — "every Monday at 8am, summarise my portfolio and the top 3 movers" — and Finautor runs it on schedule. Ask it to turn any analysis into a downloadable PDF, Excel, Word, or PowerPoint, with charts and source attribution on every number.
Your research memory
Finautor saves the key facts and theses from your conversations into a private Brain, so it picks up where you left off. Ask "what do I already know about NVDA?" any time; edit, pin, or archive anything.

Connecting your brokerage account
Finautor AI connects to your eToro account so you can ask about your real portfolio — allocation, performance, P/L, and risk — right in chat. Connections are always read-only: Finautor can see your positions but can never place trades or move money.
Connect eToro
There are two ways:
- Sign in with eToro (recommended). On the sign-in screen choose "Continue with eToro", authorise access, and your portfolio connects automatically.
- Connect later. If you signed in with Google or email, open the Connectors page from the sidebar and click "Connect eToro" to run the same authorisation.
Once connected, ask things like "What's my current portfolio allocation?" or "How has my portfolio performed this month?"
What you can analyse
- Holdings & P/L — current positions, allocation, and unrealized + realized P/L.
- Performance history — MTD / YTD / 1M / 3M / 6M / 1Y / since-inception returns, your best and worst months, and a cumulative chart.
- Account stats — risk score, drawdowns, win rate, leverage mix, copiers, and AUM tier.
- Historical snapshots — reconstruct what you held on any past date, and run a "no-trade" comparison to see whether your trading helped or hurt.
- Multi-currency — Finautor maps 50+ global exchanges to their native currency and handles sub-unit quotes (e.g. "542 GBp ≈ 5.42 GBP"), converting to your display currency with live FX.
Analyse a broker export
No connection required for a one-off: drop an XLSX or CSV export (eToro, Interactive Brokers, Degiro, and most broker formats — up to ~5 MB / 30,000 rows) into chat. Once it shows the "available" tag, ask "What's my win rate by ticker?", "P&L by category", or "best and worst trades of the year".
Other connectors
From the Connectors page you can also link, each under a single OAuth consent:
- Google Workspace — Gmail, Drive, Calendar, and Sheets (early access while Google completes app verification; email hello@finautor.com for access).
- Microsoft 365 — Outlook Mail, Calendar, OneDrive, and Excel. You can also sign in to Finautor with Microsoft directly.
- Custom data sources (MCP) — connect any remote Model Context Protocol server (e.g. GitHub, Notion, Slack) by URL; Finautor discovers its tools and uses them automatically in chat.
Numbers may differ slightly from the eToro app — see Troubleshooting for why a gap of a few dollars is expected.
Troubleshooting
Common hiccups in Finautor AI and how to clear them.
A widget looks empty or wrong
Click the ↻ to refresh — most rendering hiccups clear on the next data pull. If the freshness dot is amber or red, or you see "Refresh failed — showing last successful data", the source had a transient issue and your last good data is preserved. If it persists, delete the widget and re-ask Finautor to create it from chat.
"Could not reload the full chat"
A network glitch stopped the history from re-loading — your messages are safe on the server. Refresh the page and it returns.
Notifications aren't arriving
On desktop, allow browser notifications to get pinged when a long task finishes on another tab (they fire only when you're not already looking at Finautor). If they don't arrive, check your OS notification settings, that Do Not Disturb / Focus is off, and — on Android — that battery optimisation isn't suspending Chrome.
Your portfolio numbers differ from the eToro app
Small differences are normal: Finautor reads eToro's API and runs its own calculations. The API exposes only your primary USD cash account (EUR/GBP money accounts aren't included), copy-trading mirror positions aren't yet counted, and overnight fees and spreads aren't reflected in unrealized P/L. A gap of a few dollars is expected; if it exceeds 1–2% of your equity, let us know.
Still stuck?
Email hello@finautor.com with what you asked, what you expected, and a screenshot if you can — it helps us reproduce and fix quickly.
Reading a signal
Finautor Signals are systematic, machine-learning market-regime readings — the same for every subscriber, updated every trading day. Two are live today: a composite market-regime score for broad U.S. equities and a credit-stress regime for broad credit markets.
Educational market research, not investment advice. Signals are generic and identical for all subscribers; the methodology is proprietary.
What a reading shows
- A score from 0 to 100 and a regime label (for the equity signal, a risk-on / risk-off band; for credit, a Tight / Normal / Widening / Stress band).
- A 20-day direction (▲ / ▼) — a teaser of the recent move, not the number itself.
- The as-of date and a staleness flag, so you always know how fresh the reading is.
The open live read shows the current score, regime, and direction on every signal. Full published history and programmatic access are licensed per firm.
How to use it
A regime score is context, not a trade. It tells you what environment the market is in, so you can frame your own research — it is generic and never personalised. What drives the score — the inputs, weights, and formula — is proprietary and never returned.
Subscribing & founding members
Every signal has an open live read. Full access adds the complete published history and programmatic access (API + MCP), licensed per firm.
Access levels
- Open read — the current reading on every signal: score, regime, and 20-day direction. No key, no account.
- Firm access — every published signal, up to 5 years of history, plus REST and MCP access with an
fsk_key. Scope and terms are agreed on a call. - Institutional — custom universes, bespoke signals and direct integration, for teams and redistribution.
Finautor Signals is a research preview and goes to market firm by firm. See Signals access to book a demo.
Founding members
A limited founding cohort of firms helps shape what we build next, separate from standard access. If the cohort is open, you'll see it on the access page.

Connecting Signals (API & MCP)
Pull a signal's reading straight into Finautor AI, your own agents, or your own tools — over a REST API or MCP. Same firewall as the website: you get the served reading, never the inputs or the formula.
Get a key
Mint an fsk_-prefixed key from Settings → Connect Your Agent. It's shown once at creation — store it somewhere safe.
What you can call
Six tools serve the readings and history: the current score and the history for each signal, plus a catalogue of signals and a status check. Point any MCP-capable client (Claude Code and others) at the endpoint, or call the REST API directly.
Where to go
- Connect your agent — the step-by-step, with the full tool list.
- Developer docs — the REST endpoints, the OpenAPI spec, and machine-readable discovery (
llms.txt,.well-known).
Unentitled keys read the current reading; an entitled key raises the history depth. The API serves only the reading — score, regime, direction, as-of — never the inputs, weights, or formula.
How a Services engagement works
Finautor Services builds custom quantitative work for professional teams — a signal, a model, a research tool — and hands it over, documented end to end.
Finautor Services is research, engineering, and tooling for professional clients — not investment advice, not a personal recommendation, and not discretionary management.
Scope → build → handover
- Scope. We define the problem, the universe, and the deliverable with your team.
- Build & validate. We engineer the signal or tool, validate it, and document the method end to end.
- Handover. You receive the engine and the documentation. You — or your licensed partner — decide and execute.
We build and document; we don't manage money, hold client assets, or trade on anyone's behalf.
Starting a conversation
Tell us the problem and we'll say whether we're the right team for it — no obligation. → See Services or email us.
Privacy & data
Finautor handles your data with a few firm guarantees. For the full legal detail, see our Privacy Policy.
Read-only, never autonomous
Broker connections are read-only — Finautor can see your eToro positions but can never trade or move money. And Finautor AI won't change your dashboards, Brain pages, or automations on its own: it acts only on an explicit instruction from you, and every chat-driven change comes with an Undo.
Your credentials stay with your broker
Finautor never sees or stores your eToro password. The connection uses OAuth single sign-on — you authenticate directly with eToro, and Finautor only receives a secure token confirming your identity. The same applies to Google and Microsoft sign-in.
What Finautor collects
The minimum needed to run the service: your name and email (from sign-in), your chat history and saved automations, and — if you connect it — your portfolio data. We do not sell your data, and we do not use it to train AI models. Your conversations are private to your account.
Signals & Services
A Signals reading is generic and identical for every subscriber — it carries no personal data. Services engagements are governed by the terms of each contract. Your broker and portfolio data are only ever used inside Finautor AI, at your request.
Where your data comes from
Answers are built from established providers: Financial Modeling Prep (prices, earnings, fundamentals), FRED (macro — rates, inflation, employment, GDP), SEC EDGAR (filings and transcripts), and your eToro portfolio (read-only). Chat is processed by Anthropic's Claude under Anthropic's usage policies.
Encryption & control
All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest, and production access is restricted to authorised personnel. You can edit or archive any Brain page, restore archived pages within 30 days, and request account and data deletion at any time by emailing hello@finautor.com — handled within 30 days, in line with GDPR principles (data minimisation, purpose limitation, and your rights of access, rectification, and erasure).
Research, not advice
Today, Finautor is research and tools — not a personal financial adviser. Finautor AI helps you research and analyse; Signals are generic market research; Services builds engineering for professional teams. None of it is personalised investment advice, and nothing in the research preview is a recommendation to buy or sell.
What Services is, and is not
Services is quant engineering — we build and document a tool, and you or your licensed partner decide and execute; it does not provide investment advice.
Questions? Email us.
Sharing feedback
Finautor is built in the open with its users, and feedback directly shapes what ships next. Found a bug, want a feature, or noticed an answer that didn't look right? Email us at hello@finautor.com — we read every message.
What's most useful
- Bug reports — what you asked, what you expected, and what actually happened.
- Feature ideas — the workflow you wish Finautor could automate.
- Research-quality notes — any answer that looked wrong, stale, or over-confident. These are especially valuable: Finautor's accuracy rules are tuned in response to exactly these reports.
If you can, include a screenshot and the chat where it happened — it helps us reproduce and fix quickly.
Connect your Brain to any AI (MCP)
Your Brain is the persistent memory Finautor AI builds from your sessions — one markdown page per ticker, sector, strategy, macro theme or preference, with a full audit trail. Brain Connect lets your other AI assistants use it too: Grok Bot, the xAI API, ChatGPT, Claude (Desktop, Code or claude.ai) and Cursor all speak MCP.
Get a Brain key
Go to Settings → Connect your Brain, choose Read only or Read + write, and generate a key. It is shown once — copy it straight into the snippet for your client (Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, Grok Bot or the xAI API; the card shows each one). Read access is included with your account.
What your AI can do
- Read:
search_brain,read_brain_page,list_brain_pages,brain_status— plussearch/fetchfor ChatGPT-style connectors. - Write (only with a read + write key):
create_brain_page,update_brain_page,archive_brain_page,pin_brain_page, andbrain_remember— say "remember this in my Finautor Brain" and the note is filed under the right page.
Every write made by an external AI carries a reason and shows up on your Brain page with an External badge and an Undo. System pages (the indexes and the summary) cannot be edited from outside. brain_remember is the one tool that runs a small AI step, so it uses a little of your monthly usage; everything else is free.
Contexts
If you use context labels (for example personal and studio), pass context to any tool to narrow to that context plus universal pages. Without it, your AI sees everything, just like an untagged chat.
Revoking
Revoke a key any time from the same card. Revoked keys stop working immediately.
Where to go
- Developer docs — the tool list, the config snippets and machine-readable discovery.
- Your Brain — every page, with the External badge on pages an outside AI touched.
